Sensors can be wirelessly connected to the H2O SOS system in 2 different ways:
The first option is completely wireless between the sensor and the receiver/controller. This option uses a wireless transmitter with an integrated built-in leak sensor. This option is most commonly used when there will be one leak sensor in each room that requires leak protection in the home or business. Essentially, the leak sensor is built-in to the transmitter that sends the alert signal back to the receiver/controller.
The second option is popular when you plan on installing multiple sensors in the same room. This option uses a standard wireless transmitter, to which you can connect up to 20 sensors. However, the connection between the individual sensors and the transmitter is hard-wired. For instance, you may install one wireless transmitter in your bathroom and connect 2 sensors to it - one for toilet/bathtub protection, and one under the sink. In such cases, the wiring is usually easily hidden behind base boards, etc.
Of course, it is always an option to use both configurations where some parts of your home or business use the integrated transmitter/sensor and other locations use the standard transmitter with hard-wired sensors.
Your system's wireless receiver can support a maximum of 32 transmitters.
The next steps will walk you through adding transmitters and sensors. We recommend you sketch out your proposed system layout before proceeding further so you are confident in your design.
Choose the number of integrated wireless transmitters with built-in sensors you require for your application on the right. If you need more than 20 transmitters, please contact us for applicable discounts. If you need none, select No Integrated Transmitters w/ Built-In Sensors.
